If you experience difficulty accessing any of your domains on our system, please send our team a traceroute from your computer to assist in troubleshooting. Traceroute is used to record the specific route from your computer to a given destination.

Instructions

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Type "Run" (no quotes) in the Search box and press Enter.
  3. Type "cmd" (no quotes) in the Run box and press Enter. This should bring up a C: prompt.
  4. At the C: prompt, type "tracert domain.com" and press Enter (substituting your domain and without quotes).
  5. Copy and paste the results in an email to our team or on our contact form.

Windows XP

To perform a traceroute on Windows XP, follow these steps:

  4. At the C: prompt, type "tracert domain.com" and press Enter (substituting your domain and without quotes).

To perform a traceroute on a Mac (OS X), follow these steps:

  1. Open the Applications folder.
  2. Click to open Utilities.
  3. Choose Network Utility.
  4. Select the Traceroute tab.
  5. Type comwired.com in the form field labeled, "Please enter the network address to trace an internet route to," and click the Trace button.
  6. Copy and paste the results in an email to our team or on our contact form.

Alternately, since Mac OS is a Unix-based operating system like Linux, you can run a traceroute exactly as you would in Linux, executing the command "traceroute -I domain.com" in a Mac terminal window.
